Interchangeable Necklaces

Actually, I'm thinking about calling them "Multiple Choice" bracelets: one chain plus various "fronts" so customers can build a whole "library" of necklaces for a smaller than average cost. House-mate David Webb and I have had great fun designing all sorts of fancy beaded necklaces - everything from understated to glitz.

F'r instance:

Each of these chains is finished with a lobster-claw clasp on each end - as are the necklaces themselves. This gives one chain, leather or ribbon necklace an endless variety of looks. We're thinking in terms of $30 for the first necklace, including the chain, and $20 to $25 for the beaded and/or Viking Knit parts. Any suggestions and comments regarding those prices would be much appreciated.

This is another one of the fronts that can also double as a charm bracelet.

Disappearing Bracelets

Moving right along, in the third week of the Bracelet-A-Day project, I made my first two ephemeral bracelets yesterday and today.

See if you can picture these, and I'll post the photos next week with the rest of the week 3 bracelets.

First, picture a tall, clear glass compote maybe 12 or 14 inches high. Imagine it capped with a large fluff of soapsuds. Now imagine good-old peacock blue ink drizzled in a circle around the top of the foam. Plunge a hand up the wrist in the suds and - voila - a foam and ink bracelet - for a few moments.

Tonights was less complicated, but equally interesting. Imagine three Mandevilla blossoms (BIG conical blooms in reddish purple) draped on a wrist, bracelet-style. True enough, I will never be a hand model, but even my hand looked okay with that bracelet on it.

Meanwhile, you might want to give some thought to this "make something every day for a year" concept. It is a really fun challenge for the imagination.
